We want Cafe Zoë to be your fun place to come for happy hour and stay for whatever fun event is going on. You can expect Trivia every Wednesday night, "$3 Thursday" when bottled beers are $3 and draft beer is $5 all night, and live music every Friday night on a usual week. Other times, we are hosting fundraisers for local causes, knitting group meet-ups, community meetings, pop-up shops, and more.

We firmly believe that we book some of the best musicians of the Bay Area and beyond. Come see the local and touring acts. The musicians that have performed at the café range from anything to mellow acoustic to fast-paced rock and roll.

We are always looking for new musicians to come perform, please email cafezoemenlopark@gmail.com with links to music if you’re interested in booking your band.

We are thrilled to host ARTogether as this month's art display at the cafe. Please join us for ARTogether's reception this Saturday, September 22nd from 3:00 - 6:00pm. Learn more about their mission below:

ARTogether is a resource center for the refugee community, providing free creative arts instruction and supplies within a setting that supports social gathering, human connection, and community-building. ARTogether stands alone as the only creative arts program in the San Francisco Bay Area that specifically serves refugees. We strive to adapt to the special circumstances of the diverse groups that we work with. As we customize our classes, we consider our participants’ immigration status, family status, language and country of origin, age, sexual orientation, length of time in the United States, and access to transportation. ARTogether partners with local organizations to develop and customize its workshops, field trips, and events. Our activities are led by talented and passionate artists and art educators, most of whom are bilingual and belong to underrepresented groups, including women, people of color, and the queer community.

At ARTogether, we believe that art has a special role to play for the refugee community. It invites conversation, laughter, storytelling, and a sense of belonging. The creative process itself provides a meditative respite, keeping the hands busy and the mind gently engaged, while opening a channel for self-expression that transcends spoken language. At the end is a tangible result: a piece of art that can be shared and appreciated. ARTogether showcases selections of refugee artwork to the public as part of a parallel mission to increase public awareness of the refugee community. We have so much to learn from each other, and art is a language we can all use to communicate.

Gaby Castro

Friday, October 5th, 7:00-9:30pm
Gaby Castro is an Americana-indie-pop singer, ASCAP-affiliated songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, poet, model, actress, and activist. This 22-year-old San Francisco Bay Area native spent her early teenage years writing songs in her bedroom and performing them at coffeehouse open mics before earning a Bachelor of Music in Composition (Songwriting) at McNally Smith College of Music in 2016. Her discography consists of full-lengths Free Spirit in 2011, Made to Dream in 2012, and Love Always in 2015. Her songwriting incorporates the lyrical power of Carole King, infectious hooks of Taylor Swift, and storytelling feel of Jewel. Her next projects will be a single release of her first bilingual song “Guerrera” and her next album, Foundations & Destinations. An advocate for mental illness awareness, many of Gaby’s songs touch on her personal struggles and the trials of those around her. Let her music tell the stories.
